New Nicholas Sparks Book Set in Sunset Beach NC!

Nicholas Sparks' New Book Set in Sunset Beach

Nicholas Sparks’ New Book will be set in Sunset Beach, NC! That’s right the one and only Nicholas Sparks has announced that his newest book Every Breath will be set in our very own Sunset Beach, North Carolina.

We’re so excited he’s picked Sunset Beach and we can’t wait to read the story! Maybe Pelican Bookstore is in it? Who knows!?!

His book will be in stores on October 16th!

Here is the press release from Nick himself about Every Breath set in Sunset Beach, NC!

I’m thrilled to be able to share the news with you that my twentieth novel, Every Breath, is set to be released this fall on October 16! In the tradition of The Notebook and Nights in Rodanthe, my newest love story is about two characters who meet in a chance encounter one fateful weekend in Sunset Beach, North Carolina: Hope Anderson, born and raised in North Carolina, and Tru Walls – a safari guide born and raised in Zimbabwe – and the decades, continents, and bittersweet workings of fate that follow. I can’t wait for you to meet them.

In the coming months, I’ll be sending my mailing list subscribers an exclusive excerpt of Every Breath, sharing photos and stories from my recent African safari trips that inspired the character of Tru and offering up advance notice on a number of fun reader giveaways. Until then, I invite you to connect with me on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. While the book won’t be in stores for a few more months, you can pre-order your copy now!

Sincerely yours,

Jenny’s Two Pennies: One Good Mama Bone by Bren McClain

Jennys Two Pennies

One Good Mama Bone by Bren McClain

Sometimes I discover a new book that leaves an imprint on my heart. I never would have thought that a story about a mama cow (Mama Red) and her calf (Lucky) would touch me so deeply. Mama Red and Lucky teach a human mother unconditional love, perseverance, bravery and bittersweet sacrifice for those we love. It’s about never giving up.
The author writes with a poetic hand causing you to pause and savor her descriptive prose.
The setting is rural countryside where nothing fancy exists but it is the simplicity that speaks volumes in this tale.

I took my time reading this one like you do when you savor your favorite dessert, not wanting to finish it, letting the words settle in my mind. I won’t soon forget the sweetness of this story. Bren McClain has written a jewel of a debut. Southern fiction at its finest.

Jenny’s Two Pennies: The Bookshop At Water’s End by Patti Callahan Henry

Jennys Two Pennies

The Bookshop At Water's End Patti Callahan Henry

My latest book for review has been a pleasure to read. When reading The Bookshop At Water’s End, you can almost smell the ocean, see the Spanish moss in the live oaks swaying in the breeze and feel the warm sunshine on your shoulders.

The author writes with such poetic prose that you find yourself pausing after reading one of her descriptive passages, wanting to remember the words.

This is a book about enduring friendships-the kind that lasts forever; the kind that holds secrets and even holds grudges. It’s about love and profound loss and finding answers to questions that you may not really want to know. It’s also about redemption and forgiveness.

With endearing characters set in a small shore town, this one just may be the author’s best book yet, and that’s saying a lot.

Patti Callahan Henry does southern fiction divine justice.

Jenny’s Two Pennies: The Life She Was Given by Ellen Marie Wiseman

Jennys Two Pennies

The Life She Was Given-Ellen Marie Wiseman

This is the latest book by popular author Ellen Marie Wiseman.  It is a historical fiction not to be missed.  The author has outdone herself with this one.

This book takes you to the circus where lions, tigers, and elephants steal the show.  Lilly is ten years old, shunned by her family, she becomes part of the circus’ freak show.  Feeling unloved she longs for just one friend.

There are deeply rooted family secrets that drastically change her life.   What follows is a riveting story of deception and survival against all odds.  It will keep you turning the pages late into the night with your heart in your throat.  It is a story you won’t soon forget.  You just might become another fan of her books.

Other books by the author include:  The Plum Tree, What She Left Behind, and Coal River.  I personally recommend any of her books

Enjoy!

Jenny’s Two Pennies: Beach House for Rent by Mary Alice Monroe

Jennys Two Pennies

Jenny's Two Pennies Beach House for Rent by Mary Alice Monroe

I have been a long time fan of Mary Alice Monroe’s books. From Beach House to Skyward to Time Is A River, and then her Lowcountry Summer Series, I have savored her love of the Lowcountry of South Carolina. I have learned about sea turtles and their habits, their amazing journeys to and from the ocean. I have witnessed through her words the survival of seabirds and their habitats, how we all play a part in the conservation of the flora and fauna native to the area and the importance of doing no harm.

Sprinkle in the sand dunes, sea oats, wildflowers and the perfect beach cottage and you have the makings of the perfect beach story- Beach House For Rent. This is the same beach cottage that belonged to Lovie, the matriarch of the family. Daughter Cara rents the cottage to a young woman looking for direction and solitude while she begins to paint seabirds, commissioned to be images on postage stamps. Cara and her husband run an eco-tourism boat business. Tragedy strikes Cara’s ideal life and the two women are destined to become supporters of each other in surprising ways.

Will both women learn how to cope, how to share compassion and empathy, how to move forward and reach their destiny?

In true form, the author gifts us with the beauty of the location and with endearing characters, she once again mesmerizes us with her words, telling us of the magic of the sea and all it offers, if only we listen. Don’t miss this one. This is my honest and unsolicited review.
