Ice Books! Who Knew?
We got hit with some winter weather last night, nothing too bad compared to the rest of the South, just some ice. Luckily, it’s all melting today. We’re all just moving a little slower today. The bookstore will be open around 11am, so feel free to stop by and pick up one of these ice books! (We’re just kidding about that!) But staying inside and reading is a great way to stay warm!

Which Came First the Book or the Movie?
All of these books will be coming to theaters later on this year, two crime novels by Gillian Flynn: Gone Girl and Dark Places. Also, The Giver by Lois Lowry, The Fault in Our Stars by John Greene and Divergent by Veronica Roth. Read them before they hit theaters and see what all the fuss is about!

Another One to Add to the List…
We know what you’re going to ask and…yes!! Sue Monk Kidd’s The Invention of Wings, is every bit as good as the critics have reported. She also wrote The Secret Life of Bees, which is still a good seller in our store! This is definitely another one to read, go ahead and add it to your list!

What We’ve Been Reading (in the cold, rainy, yucky weather)
Well since it’s been cold, raining or windy and sometimes all three we’ve been reading: Fannie Flagg’s The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion. It was a great read, and you learn a bit about the women pilots of WWII.
And that Carl Hiaasen has written another hilarious romp set in south Florida. It stars a monkey that might have been in Pirates of the Caribbean! Really crazy Hiaasen at his best! Bad weather can make for some great reading, and we certainly have an abundance of it right now, so grab a great book and get to it!
