Tuesday, July 8th Pelican Bookstore will be hosting Patti Callahan Henry At Silver Coast Winery as part of our Summer Author Series. She will be signing and reading from her new book “The Stories We Tell.” The event starts at 5pm.
Admission is $7.50 and includes a glass of wine and Pelican Bookstore will have copies of her book for sale at the event. We’ll see you there!
We’re still working hard on booking our authors for the Summer Author’s Series, but we’ve got another one to add! Patti Callahan Henry will be at Silver Coast Winery on Tuesday, July 8th! Fall is here and that means the start of festival season! Next Saturday, October 5th, is the 7th annual Sunset at Sunset Festival! Pelican Bookstore is proud to be a sponsor of this great event that brings together all of our friends and neighbors, so come celebrate the history and the local culture of Sunset Beach!
The festival features lots of local vendors, amazing foods, and entertainment including The Imitations! Pelican Bookstore will have it’s own booth with local authors signing their books! It’s lots of fun for the whole family and best of all it’s free, that’s right there’s no admission. So come out and don’t forget to stop by the Pelican Bookstore booth! We’ll see you there!
We had such a lovely time when Diane came to visit Back Street Cafe and sign copies of her latest book for us Necessary Lies which hit bookstores September 3rd. We were all so thrilled to hear her read and we can’t wait to have her back again. Here is a video from the event created by the wonderful Creatadore Company that has captured so many of our wonderful events from this summer!
We will be having Diane Chamberlain, author of Summer’s Child, The Shadow Wife, Secrets She Left Behind, and several others, as our guest on Friday, September 6th. The signing will be held at Back Street Café (located a few doors down from Pelican Bookstore.)
Diane’s newest book Necessary Lies, which will be released September 3rd, will be available for purchase at the event. We don’t have a time for the event just yet, but we will keep you posted! For more information stop by the bookstore or call 910-579-8770.
We were so lucky to have Valerie Tripp here to visit and join us for a tea party, and even better we have a wonderful video capturing all of the special moments from that afternoon! Watch the video and see all the fun the girls (and their dolls) had at the tea party.

Do you take your tea with one lump or two? We’re having a tea party for Valerie Tripp author of several of the American Girl book series on Saturday, July 20th at 3pm! You’re invited to join us at the Back Street Cafe for tea and cookies with the author, dolls are invited too! Bring your daughters and let them meet the woman behind Kit, Felicity, Molly, Josefina, and more!
The cost for admission is $5 and it includes tea and cookies. Backstreet Cafe is located at 1780-4 Chandler’s Ln., Sunset Beach. (Just a few doors down from Pelican Bookstore!)
